BMG Federation Festival 2018 is being hosted by the Fretful Federation Mandolin Orchestra
We warmly welcome you to the South Coast and hope you have a wonderful weekend
The next BMG Federation Festival is taking place in the seaside town of Worthing in West Sussex. By now BMG Federation members will have received the Syllabus Booklet for the weekend and we do hope you have been enthused by the excellent range of activities on offer. If you are not a member you can download a copy of the Syllabus Booklet and Booking Form from the links at the bottom of the page. You don’t have to be a member of the BMG Federation to take part in the Festival but we hope you will take this opportunity to join and benefit from the reduced rates available to members for weekend activities.
The Festival starts on the Friday evening with a concert by Dutch brother and sister duo Marijke and Michiel Wiesenekker, performing as the Amsterdams Gitaar and Mandoline Duo. Their relaxed, warm and engaging style makes them a joy to watch.
On the Saturday there will be a comprehensive list of workshops for you to improve your skills or try your hand at something new. Also on Saturday there will be performances by the newly formed British National Fretted Orchestra, and innovative duo Elias Sibley and Florence Petit, performing as Duo Dekacord. Saturday evening sees Festival goers enjoying an evening of food, entertainment and dancing in the Art Deco surroundings of the Worthing Assembly Hall.
Sunday has a wide selection of contests for you to test your skills and entertain your peers. Then you can catch your breath while being entertained by folk duo Rob Garcia and Paul McNamara performing as na-mara. And finally the contest prizes are going to be presented by our President Louis de Bernières.
