What is the BMG Federation?
The British Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar Federation
- exists to promote the performance and education of banjo, mandolin
and guitar.
President: Louis de Bernières
Vice President:Dorothy Oram
How does it do this?
One of the ways in which it achieves this is
by making information available about forthcoming events in its quarterly
newsletter which is posted to all members. (UK adult membership costs £12.50
per year -for more information see under 'Membership' heading on this
page). In addition the BMG Federation organises a weekend Festival
and Rally and a weekend Summer School.
Education
The British Banjo, Mandolin and Guitar Federation is committed to creating the educational opportunities for players
of all ages to learn and improve on their chosen instruments. We do this
through running both our own courses and advertising courses
run by other individuals or organisations. We run
a summer school and have held courses for teachers in techniques and methodology. In progress
is a Teaching Diploma Course for mandolin
teachers.
