    2016 Summer School took place in June at Halsway Manor, Nr Crowcombe, Somerset

    Courses included: Classic Finger-style 5-string Banjo ; Baroque Mandolin with Classical Guitar Accompaniment and Let’s Build a Bluegrass Band for Mixed Instruments



  • British BMG Federation Youth Fund

    The Youth Fund is made up of donations from BMG Federation members and grants are made for the benefit of young fretted instrumentalists who are BMG Federation members under 18 years of age, or for a project run by an adult BMG Federation member to benefit one or more fretted instrumentalists under 18 years of age.
  • BMG Federation Festival 2016
    BMG Federation Festival 2016 was held in Glasgow in March.

    British BMG Federation National Orchestra Project
    This initiative kicks off with a weekend rehearsal January 13th - 15th in East Kilbride under the direction of Peter Stewart. Players of mandolin, mandola, classical guitar, classic banjo, acoustic or electro-acoustic bass instrument or electric bass guitar who can read music and are intermediate or above are welcome to take part. The cost of the weekend for BMG Federation members is £20 and for non-members is £40. Contact Peter Beaven by email at for full details and a registration form.
